Luke 16:10 says, “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”
God’s way is to start us off small (“little things”). Then after proving ourselves with a little, he entrusts us with more. The apostle Peter is a great example of this. A careful read of the book of Acts reveals that Peter spoke to a hundred before he spoke to thousands. Acts 1:15 says, “…when about 120 believers were together in one place, Peter stood up and addressed them.” Then later, Acts 2:14 says, “Then Peter stepped forward with the eleven other apostles and shouted to the crowd…” After Peter finished shouting 3,000 gave their hearts to Christ and were baptized. God started him off small and then entrusted him with more.
What little thing has God given you? Have you been faithful with it? Being faithful in little is God’s path to being entrusted with much.
